CAD - sheet metal box

Post by A2022 »

I have not worked with CAD - sheet metal much, but I thought I would try to improve my skills. this is similar to a simple alum box I made years ago to cover my fuel filter ahead of the fuel pump. it would have been easier if I had the CAD. design then flatten the pattern to have the flat cut shape. neat stuff, quick and easy. this box is 3 x 6 x 1.5 inch with .1-inch bend radii. if you had a laser cutter (or something like that), you could drop that to a .dxf file and cut it quickly. if you need an alum box design and flat pattern for free, let me know. you will need to specify the final size and bend radii.
