Black Otter 2023

Post by leffler »

Is it too early to start talking about the Black Otter?

I’m assuming it will be on Tuesday again this year.

I thought Van’s was trying to thin their crowd by raising the fee to $50. I guess they didn’t raise it high enough. 😀 They sold out all 300 tickets on the first day.

The Black Otter is less expensive and significantly better food and drinks.

It is a restaurant in Hortonville, just north of Oshkosh. A bit of a drive, but the food there is outstanding.

Stopped by The Black Otter recently and noticed they made some nice renovations to the floor layout.
Food was good as usual.

my son is arriving Cincy with his two new ones during Oshkosh so I will not be able to make it. I'm up to five grandkids and hope for a better world.... at least one without fuel tank rivet paint blisters! :) Steve

I may have a window to get in there but concerned about VAF Trumpsters and aircraft sabotage. you don't know.... all the hard work put into it. perhaps, hire a guard?

yeah, you are probably right, just a feeling I have. I have found that there are some twisted people out there. maybe a 360-camera mounted on the vertical stab?

I’m planning on attending.

I will probably need a ride if anyone has an open seat.

Others have explained that it’s a restaurant visited by the Rivetbangers on Tuesday night during OSH. Here’s a couple pictures from a few years ago. Great food, especially if you like prime rib, and a group of RV’ers. What a great combination!

It pains me to say it, but I will be skipping OSH this year. Too many other things happening for me to squeeze it in. The RV will be in the general area for the next two weeks at KSGS (South St Paul, MN) and then headed to KBUU for some R&R at a lake house.

Lots of pics please!!

Sorry that we won’t see Mike this year. I’m sure he’ll be with us in spirit. They real question is who will be ordering the three bone rib in his place?

Let’s start a list with who is coming to the Otter on Tuesday, how many guests your are bringing, if you have seats available, or if you need a ride. I’ll volunteer to call the Otter to let them know how many to expect. I’ll start…..

Bob Leffler, I may have a ride, but will confirm this weekend.
