I tried it in some scrap tonight... no go. It spins and melts, but doesn't really make a hole, more of a dent. If it were me, I wouldn't do it. The plastic drill bits do a much better job.

Cool, thanks for trying!

I bet you really have to push HARD on it and melt your way through. That CANNOT make a clean cut, I am sure. Not the product I am looking for.

You're welcome. Exactly, thats the problem, you have to push real hard and when it gets close, the bit blasts through to the other side leaving chips around the hole. Not at all good.

Try using a Uni-Bit. It won't pull through and grab like a fluted one. Also Thought I heard that someone was NOT Drilling and instead bonding the Canopy to the frame? Don.

I have heard the uni-bit is a good choice!

The flutes don't grab and push the bit through the material, like you mentioned.
