What you're not seeing is that the structure in front of the wings was bolted together in order to be taken apart and the plane removed.

I thought it looked like the panels in front of the wings might be built to swing up out of the way. Still looks pretty strange!

How about photoshop?
I'm not sure the shadows all work out right ... there is not much shadow from the structure.

I bet this is photoshopped - why go to all the trouble doing it for real when photoshop can do it in minutes with no risk to the plane?

That would be some really good photoshop work. I work at a newspaper with some really good photoshop artists and none of them are this good. Look at the reflections in the windshield, the shadows on top of the wings. Looks real enough. Also looks pretty staged.
