left elevator counterweight screw up %@#*!

Post by jackhammer »

This is what you get when you dont read the plans properly. i was preparing the E-714 counter balance on the right elevator on my rv7a ( removing the portion that is required by the plans ) and i thought id do both the left and right at the same time, thats right you dont remove any material from the left weight but thats not the worst of it i only found this out after id riveted all the elevator together so now i have no idea what im going to do. i dont think i can get the counter weight out because of the dimples in the end of the counter weight skin. Any ideas would be of great help

I did the same thing. Melt the lead you have left over cast into a shape that fits and bolt it back on. It's an easy fix.
