several people have pinged me about the new Hartzell hub and blade fixture for cutting the spinner slots. overall, it looks good.

you know, the worst thing you could ever do to a propeller is to the score it at the root with a mis-sized spinner cut out. if I were the blade engineer at Hartzell, I would tell you that you just scrapped the blade. DONE. no blending allowed at the blade root, period. at today's prices, you really don't want to do that. if someone has tried to blend the blade root it should be visibly detectable and a showstopper for a potential buyer. don't walk, but rather run away because anyone that would blend a blade root is like a crooked used car salesman.

Hartzell is trying to get ahead of this by providing a method to prevent blade root damage. when Hartzell adds a couple additional bolts, it will be a good design. when they make the change, I'll make one.
