Beautiful piece of machinery.

What was the lead time on the prop?

I was in group 3 of the april group buy. Group 3 was "i am in no hurry and have no money, let everyone else go first ". I called up American Prop last week just to check status and see if they would ship me my governor for my engine install next month. Kevin said sure and if you want we can get your prop in line for assembly also. yesterdays email said parts are inbound to them in a week or so and I should have it by mid November. So lead time was 6 months or 3 weeks depending on how you count it. I'm happy.

I tried timing it all also. In the end, I built as far I could and now am throwing money at it and hoping all the parts get here around the correct time. still need the cowl to be shipped, but the rest is coming together....gonna be a long but eventful winter

got kind of excited tonight. 1st UPS dropped off my Vetterman exhaust, then when I checked my email I got notice from Kevin at Ameritech. Prop is on it's way via UPS, should be here tuesday.

Have you been happy with Ameritech? I am thinking about using them for engine, prop, governor, maybe even exhaust. I like the 'one stop shop' aspect.

YES!!! 100% satisfied. Ameritech/eagle engines/american propeller with Bob Honig and Kevin have been excellent to work with.

I was originally planning on one of their engines, but when all options I wanted were included, it was more than I could afford. Aerosport was next as they were about $1000 less for the same powerplant.

In the end I saved roughly $6000 by going rebuilt IO-360, w/ 9to1 pistons, Emag/Pmag, Superior cold sump & AFP FI.

It's Here!

Early christmas for me

my camera doesn't capture the real beauty. Sunburst Yellow and plum crazy purple tips is set off nicely with the polished nickel edge.

the carbon spinner already being fit is a nice touch also.

Brian-

Killer paint job! The WW prop is just a thing of beauty. I hate the idea of putting it on my RV and exposing it to all that might hit it.

Do you have a pic of the final paint scheme for your bird???

That is simply awesome Brian!!! I LOVE yellow almost as much as red...which is why it will be used on my airplane too!

We should start an "I think this is my final paint scheme" thread...I can't be the ONLY one that has changed his mind on paint over a hundred times! Yes, I seriously have over one hundred paint scheme's designed...

Sorry, didn't mean to change the subject...it's Mike's fault!

LOVE the prop!!!!

After I opened the box, I thought "DANG!, now I need buy another prop for flying, then put this on when parked."

I don't have a final scheme, I got a 2 or 3 floating around my head. But I have settled on 3 colors. The base color is Yellow('09 hyundai), then some Plum Crazy Purple('09 Chrysler) and accented with a mystery color....hey I gotta save something for the honeymoon.

Chad- good idea on the final paint thread. my problem is I have no talent and am computer drawing challenged. when the time gets closer I'll be breaking out the colored pencils and doodling way.

When you get to that point, shoot me a scan of the drawing, and I'll create a jpg of it in Photoshop for ya! I love doing that stuff! The repressed graphic designer in me comes out for this stuff! 8)
