RV Kit orders
Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum (first post), but I would like to say that I like everything that I've seen on this website, so far, and I would like to announce that I just ordered the empennage kit to Van's RV-12.
Big thumbs up. Welcome to the group. Let the good time begin!

RV Kit Orders
By the way, can somebody in the forum explain to me what the different class designations under our screen names is all about. Being a pilot, when I think of "classes" I think of different types of airspace, controlled and otherwise. But I don't think that is the case here. Can somebody shed some light on this please?
Welcome to the RV addiction! The -12 is a nice kit to build. Van's makes the choices easy, since it is a complete kit.
Best of luck with the build and don't be afraid to ask questions, and please share your build experiences here.

Thanks, Chad. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself, so far, and I haven't even banged (pulled in the RV-12's case) a rivet yet!!!

Re: RV Kit orders
OBVIOUSLY, my post above is no longer accurate. My Empanage, both Wings, Horizontal Stab, Vertical Stab, and all Flight Controls are complete. Just finished the Fuselage (biggest time-consumer so far) last week, and just started on the Finish Kit. Looking forward to the "Firewall-Forward" section of the build once my engine is delivered.

Re: RV Kit orders
The "Finish Kit" as those of you who have already built RV-kits is basically installing all of the aircraft's systems, ie, the fuel system, brake/hydraulic system, flight control systems, etc. I find this section of the build to be VERY rewarding. Starting at the fuel tank and fabricating the fuel lines (straightening out provided coiled aluminum tubing, cutting this tubing to the correct lengths, bending the tubing correctly-this part is VERY challenging, flaring the ends of the tubing, and installing the various fittings and tubing lengths is very rewarding when complete. The brake pedals and brake lines are equally rewarding when successfully completed. Just started on the flight controls, but I expect them to be equally challenging and equally rewarding. This RV kit is the PERFECT way to spend one's Covid-quarantine. lol
