2nd Annual RV Gathering at Jack's Hangar

Post by USCANAM »

Hardly seems like a year since the last time we met at the hangar, but it is.
Saturday, October 4th, with a rain date of Sunday October 5th will be the dates for this year. At this time last year, we were just starting to put the wings on the RV9A.
Now, after 48 hours of flight time, we started painting it, and will be back together soon.
So, fly in, drive in, or use any other mode of transportation you like to use.
Lots of room to park for aircraft or cars. Even bring parts of your project to display and talk about.

Here are the details
Dates; Saturday, October 4, 2008. Rain date Sunday , October 5 2008
Time: 10.30 am to whatever
Place: Jack's hangar, New Bedford MA KEWB
Hangar phone 508 984 0406
email rosenracing@comcast.net

If you are coming by land vehicle, you need to contact me by email, for instructions on how to get to the T hangars.
If flying in, just tell ground control you want to go to Jack's hangar
A head count would be nice to have so we can determine how much food to have for lunch. Please post, or email me.
We had a great gathering last year. Looking forward to a good turnout again.
If I forgot any details, feel free to let me know.
Thanks
Jack

Very nice looking. Are those landing lights in the leading edge of the wing tip almost to the inboard side of the tip ? I was thinking of doing that rather than cutting into the metal leading edge.

Hi Don
Yes they are. Send me an email, and I'll send you some close up photos.

fly in

Post by lowaltituderecord »

Hi guys,

Will there be many RV's there to look at? any in partial construction mode?

If I rent a spam can and fly down where is a good place to park it, right by the hangar?

Thanks

Steve

Steve,

Yes... There are a couple in different phases of construction at EWB. I can also show you others around the area and at PYM if you like.

See you there!

Ask ground for progressives to Jack's hangar. They will accomodate you for parking.

Jack,

Just wanted to let you know I'll be a "late arrival".
I have a morning baseball game to coach in Bourne at 9:30.
I hopefully will be back in town by 12:00.

If things are still kick'n at the hangar, I'll stop in.

Coming Down To Visit

Post by aparchment »

Gents, and others:

I am planning on flying down for this shindig if the weather is reasonable. If anyone is interested in sharing a ride, I can pick you up on the way. I am planning on renting the DA-40.

Steve has expressed interest, and he is near both Minute Man and Hanscom it seems. Dave would you be interested? Johny I know that you are reasonably close to Jack, so you will probably drive.

Chime in soon folks. I know there was a guy in Portsmouth, Chris I think, so let me know if you are interested.

Bad News

Post by aparchment »

I just came home with bad news. We had a pet emergency this evening, and I need to stay home to work through it tomorrow.

Sorry to bail on you guys. Dave, sent you an email. Johny, Dave R, have fun. See you Sunday at my place. If anyone else would like to come up for a BBQ on Sunday and/or to spend a few hours on the boat, you are very welcome. Just let me know in advance if you are coming. Send me a private message here or drop me an email with your plans and I can provide directions.

Jack, have fun tomorrow. I am sure we will meet soon.

Sorry to have missed it Jack.

As you know, I coach a Babe Ruth baseball team in the Fall, and our game yesterday went 8 innings and I didn't get back from the Cape until 1:00 p.m.

Hope it went well.

Dave
It went very well. About 50 people showed up, including the airport manager and his family. Great bunch of guys and gals both interested in the cars and planes attended. Weather was a little cool, but clear.
We saved a meatball sandwich for you, but don't worry, I had it for breakfast this morning.
Hope your team won!!
See you at the next one.

That's awesome that the airport manager attended with his family.
Sounds like you had a big turnout. Congrats!

We won by a score of 16 to 9. (it was a pitchers duel  )
