comparing a couple knives for cutting the filter. the sharp pointed one is better for the first initial cut along the pleat but the black handle one is easier to grip and is a much thinner blade and fully serrated and is better from the making the cut along the edges. the thinner bladed knife with full serrations wins. the filter inspection showed a small spec or two of metal and a grey piece of RTV. check it again in 100 hrs.
I'll keep my eye open for a similar knife as the black handle but with a larger handle.
