RV4 - aircraft down - ASN Report - N13MR

Post by A2022 »

well, I can't imagine a better place to have an engine failure than central Kansas in the Wintertime, very flat and no crops. that's my old home stomping ground. coming out of ICT for Newton. it actually looks good sitting in the field, but a flip over in a tandem with a short roll bar can kill you as has been demonstrated. the question is: why did the engine fail?

The Experimental Wesley M Robbins RV-4, registration N13MR, was not damaged subsequent to the forced landing to open field terrain following an inflight loss of engine power over Harvey County at Newton, Kansas. The sole owner/pilot onboard the Amateur Built tandem seat airplane was not injured during the incident.
