well, you can't see it, but I would bet the nose gear is folded aft. the little RV nose wheel is not designed for soft fields. sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

An experimental Van's RV-7A, kit built by Alan D. Ham, crashed when landing at Bahia de Santiago Airfield, Santiago Atitlán, Sololá.
Both occupants were injured and were taken to a hospital and the aircraft received substantial damage.
