A couple of extras...

Post by captain_john »

While I am fiddling around doing the stuff that the kit calls for, I am doing some additional stuff as well.

I am cutting storage into my baggage floors because I hate to see this space go unused.

I got the idea from looking at Dan's site. I figure it can be used for extra oil, tools and rum!

I am also installing the Flightline Interiors aileron pushrod tube draft stoppers.

You have to fab up the aluminum yourself. Fortunately when Van sent me my fuse, they dented one of the skins for the tailcone. I used that extra 0.032" for this! Thanks Van!

I am going to used 3M weatherstrip adhesive (the yellow snot-like stuff that goes by another name when they sell it in $pruce) to adhere the boot to the aluminum sheet.

I think it will come out nice! I hope it is worth the while!

Looking good John.

I'm sure you'll appreciate those boot covers once the cold weather flying season hits.

I keep forgetting to order those from Abby for mine. I also gotta get some of that firewall stuff from her too.

CJ:

Those aileron pushrod booties are required equipment in the northern climes. They work extremely well.

Looking good CJ! I plan on putting booties on mine too. I'm told that anyone north of the Armadillo Line, as my wife refers to it, needs them.

Certainly sounds like very worthwhile additions. This is great, I can copy all these great ideas.

Thanks Guys,

I don't like a drafty cabin. My aging frame is getting sensitive to these sorta things!
