Time to share an update. For me it's a small milestone, I finally hung my engine.

Way to go Jim !
How much of the firewall stuff did you mount and drill before hand ?
I'm wondering which things are must drill before hand's, and which could wait till after it's hung. I'd hate to have to keep unbolting it to get access to drilling or mounting something.

That looks GREAT Jim! You gotta love how things look wen they're brandy-new, without a drop of misplaced grease or oil anywhere to be seen
Could you get a couple of measurements for me? I'd like to know the diameter of the flywheel/ring gear, and maybe a distance from the firewall to the front face of the flywheel. I'm trying to draw up a cowling around a Deltahawk in cad, but I may have run into a flywheel size issue when I was scaling the engine
Thanks!

Sure I'll get those measurements for you tomorrow, which is probably today for us by now. I put the main perforations in the firewall, heater box (stainless steal pain in the ass) throttle, mixture and starter wire access. Then I hung the battery and the oil and gas pressure sensor manifold along with the starter solenoids and that’s pretty much it Dave. Except I spent unbelievably long hours on the sub panel since a big part of that became planning the actual panel. I needed to find out exactly where the radio was going in order to cut a through perforation in the center section in order not to have to do it after the sub panel was installed. It took longer to do the sub panel that way but I’m sure there was less cussing than had I waited. Why do the sub panel before putting the engine on? No reason really, I just wanted the better access for working on it.

Thaks Jim, I thought I read somewhere that the DH flywheel was a 146 tooth, where the Lyc. was 149. However, according to their cad drawings that you can DL from their site, the flywheel is closer to 14.25"
This makes it a little harder to fit it inside the Van's cowl
I sent Deltahawk an email, but haven't heard anything back yet
