Now we get to do the fun job of deburring, countersinking, prep and priming. NExt time we put it together for real. :)

Chad, keep hard at it so if I come up with any more questions I can call and ask you.

Wait a minute John!! Don't fall for that! Kramerica made oil bladders for ships (that failed), and are now working on peanut butter and jelly in the same jar...don't fall for Brad's suggestion! Luke would not be working on RV stuff! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Great progress John. Hope the summer brings even more with an extra pair of hands now and then, but don't make him spend the whole summer in the shop.

MAke him spend the whole summer in the shop?? He drags me to the shop. 8) We are taking some opportunities to go fishing once in a while or shoot the bows, etc. Also, Osh is ocming and we are looking forward to that!

My finish kit should be here right before Osh so we need to keep moving.

We now have all the parts deburred, countercunk/dimpled, prepped and primed. Well, almost, I still have to prime the longerons as they won't fit in the paint booth so I'll do them outside tomorrow.

Boy am I glad to have that part done. I hate priming, but it sure looks nice.

John, was it as windy at your house today as it was mine? Supposed to be past us tomorrow, after the storms tonight, for a BEAUTIFUL Friday and Saturday. Hope you get to paint 'em tomorrow!

Yes it was! As a matter of fat they had a tornado warning and the radar showed it right at our location. Seems no one saw it, they were going by what they were seeing on the radar and based the warning on that. We did get a lot of heavy rain so after it cleared up the humidity was super high. Hope tomorrow is less windy and nice so I can get the logerons shot.

We've flipped!

Post by JohnR »

Well we flipped the canoe today. Another milestone made. Boy does it look different, all of a sudden it apears we have an airplane. I'm not sure how long it will remain right side up as it almost seems easier towork on some of the stuff from underneath it when it is upside down. I think we will try to build a rotissorie for it. That way we get the best of both worlds.

Here is a photo of Luke with the upright canoe! :)

Hi John,

While the progress looks great, I must ask:

Where's the picture of you sitting in the "canoe"?

Well as ypou know I'm not a little guy and think I will wait until everything is just a little farther along.

Here are some photos of my latest progress. The wife wants her garage back so I am adding onto the shop so the tractor, mower, snowblower and all of the other junk can have a new home. It is currently in the garage on the house. Oh yeah, a couple of retaining walls too.

Here I am Friday watching my friend Dennis run the bull float which he won;t let me touch.

Here is the progress as of Sunday night.

and one of the retaining walls.

So that is why I have not posted any new news concerning the airplane. Maybe after Osh.

On a good note Partain is supposed to deliver my finish kit while I am at Osh!
