Total rethink of the panel.

Post by jim_geo »

Changed my mind and went mostly electronic.

Sure saves space, not to mention a few bucks.

Jim, I recall back in the day... you were one of the Stanley Steamer proponents?

Not much steam in that panel!

What do you think about moving the altimeter to the right of the AH to where it belongs and shifting the airspeed and EFIS to the left to accommodate it?

Aside from that, I like it!

Nice job!

Yup, things are going to get moved around a bit before I start to cutting panel metal. The firewall to panel ribs need to be repositioned at the sub-panel level for things to fit right. By the way I like you thoughts on the positions of the Alt. and AS indicators.

Hi Jim,

The only thing I would change is the position of the EFIS system. I have heard from several people that the A/H should be directly in front of the pilot. That would mean shifting the EFIS system to the left. Other than that, I think you are on the right track.

Good Luck!

I do like the simple unclutered panel Jim. Very nice! 8)

Today I moved the EFIS left and the EMS right centering them pretty much on the seats. Then moved the altimeter to the upper right side of the gps and the airspeed to the same on the left side. I know I'll probably be moving them again but I really like the way it looks now. More pics to come as I narrow it down.

Yes Chad as I was going through the changes I kept thinking of you and what you'd say. Knowing that you have a perfect right to say it. I've been pretty good up to now though. :)

That looks almost exactly like what I had planned. I'm using the 2.5" analogs though.
