Belly Tank

Has anybody ever installed an external belly tank on an RV7a, similar to a WW2 drop tank? I envision one 20 gallon tank mounted under the belly would increase weight by about 200 lbs and add an extra 2 hours of range. Any thoughts?

I thought about doing something like that when I first started building.. But it's taken me 4+ years just to build what I got so far... so maybe after it's flying I might pursue it again, but not right now.
