Five years...to the day.
Five years...to the day.
I couldn't have planned this any better. Weird. Five years ago TODAY, I started the build of my RV-7.
Today, I call the build project DONE, and ready for inspection!
Hehe...the PROJECT is done...not the airplane!
Inspection is tomorrow!

I bet you could have gotten it done in about three years if you didnt stop to count all those rivets. hehehehehecjensen wrote:I couldn't have planned this any better. Weird. Five years ago TODAY, I started the build of my RV-7.

Good job!
I'm starting to despair of getting back into my own shop, I started my project 2.5 years ago and I'm mid-way through the fuse, but I'm about to put my house on the market and move about 30 miles away to some land I just bought, and live in a smaller place while building my big house. My workshop will now be 15 minutes down the road instead of in my garage, and I can just see the calendar pages flipping by as project completion gets pushed back...
I should have about 2 years between the move and the big house, saving up money for the build, I'm just hoping I can squeeze enough cash out of the budget for the engine, prop, and panel to finish it in that time period. I know once we start on the house project time is going to be tight...

Building a 9A with too much fuel and too much engine - should drop dead any minute now.

I was told by a RV builder at Oshkosh in 2006 that the average build time for and RV was 10 years. It took me ten years and l days from the day I got the empenge until it was signed off by the DAR! Of course I had changed to quick build so I am slower than most.
