Baggage ribs to 706 Bulkhead

Post by captain_john »

First of all, these things are HOKEY!

Van SHOULD HAVE formed a little joggle in the aft portion of this outboard flat baggage rib so that it could attach to the bulkhead!

It is certainly a carryover from one of those old fashioned -6 kits, I am sure!

The plans call for 0.032" stuff, but the edge distance is marginal at best!

I pumped up the volume a bit and fabbed mine out of 0.063" stock just to make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

As you can see, I also had to countersink the holes instead of dimpling them.

You may want to do this too.

Chad, this is what I called you about this AM when you were flying.

Hope this helps!

Cool! I may redo mine that way. I have mine made already, and I know what you mean about edge distance.
