Space Required To Build?

Post by Russell Myles »

Hi folks,
Lost my medical, had to sell my replica P47, but need to keep active while I work on getting my medical back. Looking seriously at the -8.

Garage is 17ft by 22 feet - will this be enough room (once I ditch all the junk from inside)?

First off, welcome  Glad you decided to post.

That will definately be enough room to do most of your building. You wont have enough room to set the wing incidence but many people do that at the hangar anyway. It will also be tight when the engine/prop & tail on the fuse, but that is years away and by that time you will most likey have some ideas on how to solve that issue.

I say go for it, many people, including some that are here, are building in less space. I believe apartchment is building in a very small area.

:welcome:

Welcome Russell! You have PLENTY of space to build an -8!! Go for it!

Wait 'til p-wich sees this! You'll see how small his space is, and he is steadily making progress!

Hello Russell!

Good to see you on this bbs also!

As everyone has already said... what are you waiting for!?!?

Personally, I would have started much earlier if I had known then what I know now. My setup is, admittedly overkill. It is WAY more than I need.

Go for it!

I think you would be fine and should go for it. Space is nice but you don't need as much as you would think. Just be ready for the "how are yo ugoing to....." type of questions. You'll get a lot of them.
