Instrument Panel

Post by RobDob »

Morning all

My co-builder is going to start work on the instrument panel this coming weekend. We have all the analogue instruments; just radio & transponder to get.

We are keen to get that top skin in place so we can finish the canopy & baggage door. My question therefore is; if the instruments are fitted, but not wired, is fitting that skin going to make life very difficult to get wired & plumbed at a later date? Can the panel be removed easily enough to do this or is it going to be a painful 'on your back, working upside down' type of affair?!

We are quite keen to get as much done with what we have until funds allow us to buy more parts!!

All help gratefully received!!

Cheers guys.

Id wait as long as possible before you rivet that top skin up there. I had a friend that built an 8A and it was nice having that rear panel access when wiring / fitting the contents of the panel.
