I think I found my engine builder!

I met Jeff Swords at Jack's fly in last weeked, and Jeff called me yesterday to answer a BUNCH of questions for me. They built Jack's engine, and did a fabulous job! Their prices are AT LEAST $1,500 less than anyone else I have talked to, and can customize as much or as little as you like. They will get you more power (horsepower and torque) for less money.

Check 'em out!

Nice!

Looks like a fine, reputable company!

Good decision, Chad!

Looks like they build some nice engines.

Jim, don't worry I can't keep up either. Of course I have trouble keeping up with my own idea changes let alone everyone elses! :o

Well, I was, but then I ran in to some irritations with a couple of the Subie builders (there's much more to this story, but I don't want to go in to detail on the public forum-send me a PM if you want to know), and they don't seem to have a set direction for the future. I decided that I am building an experimental, but I don't want to experiment...I want to fly! So, I'll be going O-3xx...

I was sold on LASAR mags but now that I'm just a fuzz away from shelling cash out I'm reading some things that are less than encouraging about them so I'm almost back to ground zero on ignition. I understand about the changes when something like a Subaru is being considered. Have you given any more thought to assembling your own?

I have, but I don't know that the savings will amount to enough to justify the time spent building it...

What are your concerns with LASAR? I'm not sold on it either, but a good friend of mine is running it without problem. I like Pmags...

I should never have spent the time building the engine that have. I would have been way ahead of where I am today on the 7 if I didn't. However even if I did know up front what it was going to take I think I may still have built it. About the mags, I'm just a little worried about too high cylinder head temps in a fairly close fitting cowl. I'm probably still going to use the LASAR system though.
