Looks great! Of course I am partial to Red. When I helped rebuild mine, the A&P provided the stock grey color free. I felt that since he didn't charge me a lot for the rebuild and the core engine to begin with I couldn't be to fussy. After 70 hours, I am still okay with the color.

I haven't yet. I stole a picture of someone else's motor to show what it should look like. Plus anytime there is a chance to poke fun at Chad... works for me.

I'm having an engine built from a good core. Should put out ~190hp and under $20K with all accessories.
IO-360, C/S, 9 to 1 pistons, flow & balanced, 1 mag/1Emag w/harness&plugs, AFP FI, cold forward facing induction sump, 60 amp Alt, L/W starter, & test run and warranty.

maybe things are looking up after all

thanks Chad, nothing personal.
I had just opened the mail, excited to review some loghome plans we were having drawn up. The *%#@ architect sent us a completely different plan than we had all agreed on, with a note saying he thought it "flowed better". Anyway, I guess I was in a mood and needed a punching bag, so you were the chosen one....besides you're used to the abuse.

Luckily (or unluckily) we have.....had a lot of home equity. So I'm paying interest now. One thing good about the past month, I reevaluated: what do I want vs what do I need vs what can I afford.

I ended up buying a rebuild vs brand new but equipped almost exactly the same and saved about $6500....which is the balance on my prop.

Working on an order list today and the other stuff is really adding up quick. FWF kit, exhaust, cowl, cables, hoses, prop spacer, oil cooler..... :o

Well I don't have it in my grasp, but the builder sent me a pic today of "my engine". Parts delay have pushed back the originally delivery date , but hopefully I'll be able to go get it Tuesday. fingers crossed

Really hoping to bolt it up while my son is home from Afghanistan.

That yellow will contrast and leaks or cracks VERY well!

Makes for easy inspections!

Looks GREAT!!!

I can put it over the mantle with my prop  As slow as I'm going I'll be looking at it for a while before it ever gets a chance to leak.

I didn't pick the color, I just said make it yellow. works for me

He must have heard the comment, "you're building a tractor not the space shuttle" so I guess I get CAT yellow....might have to name my plane, dozer or D7.
