I usually crack the throttle, start the boost pump and give full mixture until I see a fuel flow indication and then pull back to ICO. I then crank and push the mixture back in.
This guys method is WAY smoother than how I was taught!
What is your method?
How do you like his?

Nice video! I use the same method you do for cold starts. Typically I start on the first blade with my precision injection. My hot start technique, however, could use some help. Now I push the throttle in 1/4" (about 1200 RPM), fuel pump on, crank the engine and push the mixture in until it catches. That method seems to work really well until I have a friend getting a ride then the RV never seems to start! I'll give the method in this video a shot next hot start. Thanks for the post!

John.....thats the way ive been telling you to do it for years but now that someone on a video on youtube tells you to do it NOW your considering it? the only difference with me is that i go to full throttle when priming and then back to idle and then start, ive never met a FI engine i couldent start with that method.
The best aircraft mechanic is one you only see once a year
