fiberglass to the inside

Post by A2022 »

3D printed cowl preheater duct adapter. it needs reinforcement for edge contact and point loads. you will need some pressure to push fiberglass to an inside surface. for this I choose to use foam and then a stake to add some pressure. 2 layers of 4-inch fiberglass tape but cut in thirds so it will move with the foam. no peel ply to wrinkle for this, it doesn't need to be pretty. the fiberglass tape from Aircraft Spruce wets out nicely. cut the excess away after curing. the soft ABS plastic is the cowl contact surfaces.

it's ready.... perfect bond.

Canadian 6" flex duct is 2.5x thicker alum than the Chinese option.... buy Canadian for durability. no made-in-USA option available.
