Well after a lot of effort trying to install it I cut my first attempt at running the pitot tube out for replacement. I've decided to use better quality tubing than that provided in the kit. I've also ordered a Rolo flare tool from Cleaveland tool, that along with a tubing bender. Really! don't use automotive tools here.
Perhaps I can do a better quality job of the installation all around. I'm also considering very strongly the use of another simple tube installation near the pitot tube that will be my static air source. The simple 90 degree bent tube plugged on the foreword end and drilled on each side for an air source. Seems like that would clean up the interior of the plane and get rid of a lot of plumbing headaches. Anyway I'm giving all this up until after Christmas.
You know Chad you ought not feel to bad. I've been very happy with the workmanship of the QB kit but I think there are some things I'll be changing. For one I think I'll be redoing one tank for aerobatic use. So that's a project. Also I'm gonna miss you guys, I shed tears when I think about it.... Seriously though I get this weird feeling kind of like cheating on a test. But, oh well, I got an A in the class . No really if I had to choose again I might go with the slow build. But that's a big might. Right now I'm about three months behind on a project that I set eighteen months aside for and keep falling behind a little more all the time. I expected a big project and I got one.

Don't feel bad Chad, Jim has sufficiently passed up a group of SB wing builders including myself, TShort and probably CJ. I have been plugging away at my wings since Sept.
It's not rubbing it in John. It's just the way it is. As far as snap together goes I don't think I can agree. I'm think that truly what a QB build relieves you of is a lot of repetitive motion. As I'm looking at what I want in the end I'm thinking that I may actually have to replace at least one of my tanks. If that is the case I will build from parts. I feel as if I'm missing way to much of the fun by not having built my own in the first place. About that picture, it's entirely for the benefit of the FAA and yes I am somewhat relaxed having just come to the realization that I had in fact been beaten into the ground by a tube. About two minutes before that I decided to do no more work until after the holiday. I used the timer on my camera to take it, it is a self portrait. If you look real close you may see the look on my face. The expression says it all “What a piece of s#!t”. I couldn't manage a smile.
