Monday looks good from a schedule standpoint now ... if the weather is good we could do lunch. If the weather is no good we could still do lunch / stop by the shop (I can come by in the car).
Will keep in touch!

We're flying up to ELO (Ely, MN) for some dog sledding on Friday and Saturday... Can't take the RV yet so the Aero will have to do. I wonder how it will feel after flying my last 5 hours or so in the RV-6!

I hope I can still land a tri gear!!!

We do that so our friends won't think building a plane is wierd...

By the way, curling, dog sledding, ski-joring and ice boating are just part of winter in Minnesota. If you don't do something in the winter you'll wake up in a padded room when the ground finally thaws!

Be sure and post some pics from your trip Chad!!! What are you flying?

Ahh...that makes more sense now...

I missed a GREAT shot yesterday! On our way in to Ames, IA, we were being vectored for the ILS RWY 1, and we popped out of a layer at 3,000 feet, and there was another layer at about 700 feet. There are three 2500ft towers just south of the IAF, and they were sticking up out of that low cloud layer. We made a nice arcing right turn right over the top of them, and the view I had out the co-pilot's side was AWESOME!! As soon as it was too late to think about it, I thought of my camera. :bang: :bang:

Oh well, I hope describing it gave a decent mental picture. I'll try to remember to take some pics on the next trips. I'll get some of the airplane too...it's a King Air 200.

:)

No Proline 21 in this one. It's OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLDD. Tenth 200 built. It's a 1974 airplane with a B200 wing put on it in 1983. It's nice, but old. Flies great though!!

Here's a couple pics of her...

Chad that thing rocks. I bet you are grinning ear to ear everytime you pull back on the yoke and launch that beast off the runway. I used to jump out of one of those when I was a active meat missile.

Yeah, it's a grin machine...as long as no one is on board! We're pretty conservative with climb rates and bank angles with pax. BUT, on the empty legs...well...let's just say it's fun...

So I take it that is one of your companies permanent planes. How many hours PIC do you get to log in it a month? Are you guys hiring?

Not many as PIC. I'm an SIC on the King Air for Part 135 (charter) trips, and SIC Part 91 on the Lear 35. I do log PIC time on about half of the trips, but the majority of the time is SIC.

Chad,

This is what I did most of my advanced training in, about 85 hrs worth. Sweet bird to fly and an awesome instrument trainer. We also got to fly some form in 'em which was a balst!

Take care,

Jim

You better believe it!! I DO love my job!!

The Pilatus is ours too (managed). It's nice, but it flies like a truck! Heavy controls, and slooooooooow roll rate.
