IVOPROP
IVOPROP
Trying to learn something here
http://www.ivoprop.com/inflightmagnumodel.htm
This is an electrically adjustable prop with a constant speed module that seems reasonable priced.
However, I have not found anyone in the RV community that is using this prop.
Any thoughts or comments on this unit?

Initial reaction based on their website... it looks cheesy to me.
...now, I am an idiot but, It looks like an ultralight unit. I see that they have units for up to 700 hp. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like anything there could handle that much, or even a couple of hundred hosses.
Me? I am leaning towards www.aerocomposites.com even though they are premium loot.

I've got over 200 hours on my IVO Magnum 3 blade on a turbo Subaru. No problems or issues. Works great. Good company to deal with. A much cheaper alternative to MT/ Hartzell for auto engines.
Always lots of speculation about these props from people who have never flown one. I know a guy who does instruction using a Rotax powered aircraft with over 1500 hours on his IVO. Zero problems and he much prefers it over FP stuff.
There are hundreds (thousands) of these flying on everything from ultralights to RVs and Cozys.

Oh, I don't own one, but flew in one (RV-9A owned by Scott dell' Angelo, now for sale. Has O-320/160hp). We didn't do any speed runs, and I don't recall his numbers other than he said he meets Van's numbers. This has been echoed by others with a similar configuration when Craig pitches the prop for cruise. He knows all the Van's specs, and has been quoted as saying he will meet them as a minimum if that is your mission. I recall the beautiful workmanship, and smoothness while running. Plus, the three blade is just plain sexy .
HA! Great avatar Carl!! Totally you!!
Ross, I believe Carl is referring to the 9A he rode in. He lives 5 minutes from me, and since I was over at his house riveting a wing panel the other day, I'd venture a guess that's the case...unless he's on lightspeed, and had a first flight in the last week or so...
EDIT: Oops a few minutes late on my post...Scott is selling!!??
