Initial reaction based on their website... it looks cheesy to me.
...now, I am an idiot but, It looks like an ultralight unit. I see that they have units for up to 700 hp. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like anything there could handle that much, or even a couple of hundred hosses.
I have just about compleatly eliminated a constant speed prop from consideration for my plane. From the pilots flying RV's I've talked to (these are pilots flying C/S and F/P) it really is a break even world. My two cents, just my personal taste.
I've got over 200 hours on my IVO Magnum 3 blade on a turbo Subaru. No problems or issues. Works great. Good company to deal with. A much cheaper alternative to MT/ Hartzell for auto engines.
Always lots of speculation about these props from people who have never flown one. I know a guy who does instruction using a Rotax powered aircraft with over 1500 hours on his IVO. Zero problems and he much prefers it over FP stuff.
There are hundreds (thousands) of these flying on everything from ultralights to RVs and Cozys.
Hey Chad, good to be here. Have you seen any performance numbers from the H6/IVO RV in your photos? Always interested in what others are doing out there.
I've ridden in that airplane, and Benny (owner) says he true's at about 175mph. I think he is just getting his info from the Dynon computed speed, not sure if he has four-way GPS tested it. He does everything in MPH, so he should be seeing about 152kts in cruise.
Ross, I will be in the Montrose/ Gunnison area towards the latter part of June. Unfortunately we are driving instead of flying my 8. Would like to see your 6 if you are going to be around. (And I need a good fly reel!)

Yeah, after flying behind a Catto FP, I'm having a hard time justifying a c/s. To satisfy the c/s crowd, I may put an unconnected blue lever in for a placebo effect .
Oh, I don't own one, but flew in one (RV-9A owned by Scott dell' Angelo, now for sale. Has O-320/160hp). We didn't do any speed runs, and I don't recall his numbers other than he said he meets Van's numbers. This has been echoed by others with a similar configuration when Craig pitches the prop for cruise. He knows all the Van's specs, and has been quoted as saying he will meet them as a minimum if that is your mission. I recall the beautiful workmanship, and smoothness while running. Plus, the three blade is just plain sexy .
Ross, I believe Carl is referring to the 9A he rode in. He lives 5 minutes from me, and since I was over at his house riveting a wing panel the other day, I'd venture a guess that's the case...unless he's on lightspeed, and had a first flight in the last week or so...
EDIT: Oops a few minutes late on my post...Scott is selling!!??
Yeah, a baby on the way, and he says he doesn't fly it much ':o' . A hint of financial issues?? Too bad, nice plane. It is posted on the VAF classified section.
