hahaha it sure did.

This airplane has cost me a lot of money :) In a year of ownership, I've had oil cooler hoses and mag check ADs come up. I've had to replace a vacuum pump and all the side glass. I'm about to have my fourth oil change done on it since I bought it!

Yeah, I fly a lot. It's costly.

Hi - this is interesting to me... I'm considering buying a low cost Cherokee 140 for 2-3 years until my RV is done... I have a A&P / IA friend who will help me for free. Is this a bad idea? I thought these were pretty simple, low cost (for certified) airplanes.

Thanks for any info,

dave

heck no it's not a bad idea. I love my airplane, I just don't love my mechanic :)

I've had two Cherokee's, a 140 and a 180, both of them were fantastic airplanes, and easy (cheap with the right mechanic  ) to maintain!

Go for it!!

also bear in mind that I've put 190 hours on this plane in ten months. I suppose lots more issues come up if you fly that much.

Ugh it's depressing to do the math... I think I've put in the neighborhood of $12,000 into maintenance. That's a mere $63/hr :o
