Are you building a boat?

Post by cjensen »

It's never looked more like a boat to me than it did yesterday sitting in the front yard!

Image

According to several passerby's, and my mom, I'm right!

...rearranged the garage yesterday so I have room to fit my wings for the fist time (hopefully tonight!). 8)

Good luck Chad, let us know how it goes and we want pics on the site by morning, complete with detailed directions!

Why don't you take a nice vacation down here in East TN for a while and help me get my "boat" to the point where you are now. We have plenty of lakes, thanks to the TVA, to float them in.

Ahhhh! I remember it well. I first put my wings on in my 2 car garage. Since its not big enough, I had the fuselage parallel with the garage door. This meant that one wing was into the garage and one stuck out into the driveway. Quite a site. I remember crawling up a ladder to unplug the garage door opener so the obvious would not happen. It then started to rain so off came the wings, back to the basement, and wait for another day when the process was repeated. What a time! It sure looked great! You have to watch yourself or you'll be sitting around admiring you handiwork, not finishing the job at hand.

Good luck and enjoy yourself.

Chad, Cool!

With this heat you are gonna need a boat, seeing as you got rid of that nice old one you had!

You know, after building some fuel tanks, I bet most builders could easily build a simple fishing boat. Some of the curves up front might be interesting, but not impossible. Probably quite a few boat kits out there. :)

Chad:

Just stick a good sized Merc on the firewall end and your wife won't be mad at you for selling the boat anymore.

It should really plane great!!

Sorry about that, but I couldn't pass that one up!!

It's funny. When I went through my boat building phase a few years ago, people were always asking me if I was building an airplane!
