Computer question--computers for dummies

Post by lancef53 »

I got a new computer and was wondering if there was a way to get my favorites on the new computer without typing them in with my killer typing skills.

Anybody know??

Thanks, Lance

It's in your documents and settings folder and is a folder called favorites. You can copy it to a thumb drive or other device and put it in the same place on your new computer.

Lance,

If you happen to be using IE7 then you can just open bookmarks and export on the old computer to a thumb drive or CD and import them new one.

If using Firefox I would recommend using Foxmarks addon which will allow you to keep all the computers you use up to date with all of your bookmarks.

Good luck.

If your old computer is Windows XP there is also a program called Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. I think it can transfer to Vista as well. Here is an article on how to use it: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/usin ... ber12.mspx

And another: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/usin ... _fstw.mspx
