QB wing bottom skin riveting

The planets aligned today and I was able to get in the shop. So might as well start riveting the bottom skin on my QB wing. After reading a few builder logs I figured I could rivet most of it by myself.

Here's how I started:

rivet along the rear spar and toward the front spar together

4 hours later, I have the hard half done and my arm was grooved up.

It got easier as I went along and figured it out. Should be able to do all but a few rivets on the overlap.

Good job Brian! I actually enjoyed doing that part by myself...my dad did help some, but most of it was all me!

I don't quite get the marred up arms though...a long sleeve T-shirt goes a long way!

I had the holes stuffed with a towel or two. But I think my problem was FATS...fat arm & too slow

I enjoy building by myself also. So far I had maybe 2hrs of help.

Brian,

Great job! I went through all of that just a few months ago. I enjoyed the solo riveting and figuring out ways to reach each rivet. Sometimes left-hand riveting was the only way to go. I got marred up arms, too, but a good nights' sleep takes care of that. Some of those rib holes aren't big enough to put cushioning material around your arm and still get it through.
