Grove Gear; Brake line Mod
Here's what I did to attach the brake line from the caliper to the bottom of the grove gear leg. I cut an existing pre-made braided line shorter, (the shortest it comes pre-made is 12") then I put on another straight compression fitting and used a 45 degree fitting coming out from the bottom of the Grove Gear.
Doing it this way will still allow me to remove the caliper to change the pads without having to remove the wheel pant bracket.

Pete, pretty close!
You fill it from the bottom with a pressure pot.
Basically you fill the system from the bleeder screw. Force the fluid from the bleeder screw through the caliper, up to the master cylinders and into the res.
So yes, you DO turn the plane upside down!

Grove gear on its way
I got the pre-made lines from here: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produc ... ?Product=3
They also sell the fittings, hose and tools to assemble new end pieces as well. I didn't re-use the part I cut off, I bought a new fitting for the end and re-assembled it using the new end fittings.

Why not make them yourself.. It's really not that hard once you know the technique and the tool wasn't that expensive.

I know it is an old subject, but I am getting ready to do the gear on the 8. Could you tell me the tool and fittings I need too do this brake line mod?
Also, How did you do the brake line from the TOP of the Grove Gear thru the floor and into the tower. I was thinking of doing another flexible line from there to the brake system.

Pretty sure I got the tools from Pegasus Racing along with the parts.
As far as the line going from the top of the gear into the fuse, I used flexible braided lines for it with a 90 degree fitting attached to the gear and a straight fitting going into the Parking brake unit.
