Shortest trip EVAH!

Post by captain_john »

Today was an interesting journey!

I was just kinda kickin' around the shop and listenin' to Unicom like I always do when I got an itch to go flying. I grabbed the Citabria and headed out. No particular place to go, but I heard there was ultralight activity 4 miles west of KPYM. I knew that was the private grass strip the UL62 guys fly out of, so I headed that way and dialed in air to air.

There they were!!! I dropped the Citabria in and chatted a while. Four miles from field to field! This grass was the smoothest and the BEST I had ever landed on! It was like a golf course!!!

After chatting we pitched it back into the wind and booted around a bit more. The UL guys stayed local as I bid them adue and headed off towards the Cape. It was a BLAST!

We are having our chapter cookout there on monday night and I am bringing the Citabria back and Wicked Stick is driving the -4 there as well!

These UL guys are not gonna know what hit them!

Off to the airport...

Ours was so short today that I would have diven farther to the hanger than I drove to the fly-in!

All the RVer's met at Stein-Air today to learn about panel design and the latest and greatest gear that we're going to see at OSH! G600 anyone?!?

...we also toured Minneapolis Center! That was AWESOME! I got to meet the people that I get my clearances from and the ones that vector me all over the state when I'm trying to leave town! :P

I love the Center tours!

I did the Boston Center tour and it was really cool to see the other side of the microphone!

I didn't know there were real people on the other side!!!
