It was a perfect day, starting at 4 degrees Celsius and reaching a high of 20 degrees with almost no wind. I’m not sure how that happens without any breeze—maybe it’s the solar radiation on such a crisp and clear day. I couldn’t resist the beauty of fall and decided to get some exercise for both myself and the aircraft. Originally, I planned a short path ride with some mountain bike trails, but the weather was so nice and I felt so good that I kept going—village after village. It turned into an all-day ride covering 60 miles. Yellow Springs was gearing up for a big party weekend, and along the way, I met a nice woman at a coffee shop. Later, she ran into me again at the bike depot and asked me to show her the actual Yellow Spring, but I was running out of daylight and feeling tired from the ride. Plus, the Springfield airport was closing taxiways for construction and preparing for heavy drone activity, so I didn’t want to navigate that at night. What an amazing day!
A 13-mile ride section completed in 50 minutes on a stock Zizzo Liberte with no aero bars and flat pedals, which I calculated to be 15.6 mph. It seems pretty slow when you consider that Tour de France cyclists race at twice that speed for 100 miles.
The sump air humidity sensors spiked after I connected the dehumidifier. It will begin pulling it down in about 30 minutes.
Also, I found the ultimate Oshkosh tie down anchor, 3 ft.
